04/20/17 - Day 17 - Nashville, TN - Stanley Cup Playoffs

I had the opportunity to attend my first NHL game this evening, courtesy of Andy Creighton.  The Nashville Predators hosted the Chicago Blackhawks at Bridgestone arena for game four of the first round of the playoffs.  Going into the game Nashville was up in the best of seven series 3-0 and had a chance to close out the first round with a sweep of one of their top rivals.  The arena is located in the middle of downtown on Broadway right up the street from all the bars so there's a big crowd well before the game starts.

For game three, Carrie Underwood sang the national anthem.  For this game, we had Luke Byran

The tickets were about a dozen rows behind the board about midway between the midline and one of the goals.

Nashville has been playing out of their minds in the post season and continued to do so this evening.  After a scoreless first period, Nashville went on to score four times through out the second and third periods while giving up only one goal during a power play.

Breakaway leading to the third Nashville goal

A couple shots of the arena during the game.  Includes a goal counter towards a free frosty (which was achieved, though I didn't collect)

Final seconds tick down to Preds win

Very fun game, will follow the team through the playoffs to see how it turns out.
