07/04/17 - Day 92 - Chicago, IL - 4th of July

After rousting ourselves from the downtown hotel, my friends and I decided bike through the parks along Lake Michigan, including the Museum Campus, Grant Park, and Millennium Park.

Along the way we went out on Northerly Island which provides some good views of the skyline.

I was struck by how blue the lake was - reminds me of the Caribbean, sans salt.

We also passed Soldier Field, home of the Bears

In the evening we went out to Butler Field near the Buckingham Fountain to watch the fireworks show.  The skyline was lit up in red, white, and blue to celebrate.

After the show we headed back into the city to walk around and check out a rooftop bar near the Magnificent Mile, the London House.

The London House rooftop offers a great view of the city.  However, it is unfortunately next to this building.
